Group's Inaugural Meeting a great success- 30th March 2019
New RoADAR group in the North West
A new motorcycle group had its inaugural meeting last weekend, the RoSPA Advanced Drivers & Riders North Lancs & South Cumbria Riders.
Seen here at the meeting is the group Committee along with Lee Davies, RoSPA Regional Coordination for the North West, and Geoff Evans, the area’s Regional Senior Examiner.
The idea came from the Chairman Mark Furnival, who is also a RoSPA examiner. Mark started examining for RoSPA last year and soon came to realise that there was a huge gap in RoSPA coverage between the Manchester and Merseyside Groups, and the North Cumbria & South West Scotland Group to the north. Mark enrolled the help of some fellow motorcyclists to form a Committee and to move the group forward. They worked with representatives of the surrounding groups and with assistance from Amy Brant at RoSPA HQ and Lee Davies, Regional Coordinator, formed the group. The inaugural meeting was well attended and there has been a lot of interest expressed in joining the group both from established members and from new associates looking to take training. The group are lucky to have two examiners within the area, along with experienced tutors.
